my old roomie justine (who i finally got to see this weekend & just recently moved to boston) told me she loves visiting nyc because as a tourist she can actually enjoy all it has to offer. it made perfect sense to me. i always mope about how badly i wish i lived here (which i do), but it is ALMOST better as an outsider. when i did live here i was so busy working & rushing that i began to take it for granted. every time i visit i savor every second of wandering the streets aimlessly, touching endless amounts of beautiful vintage and seeing old familiar faces. it's the perfect getaway.
i spent this day grabbing venezuelan arepas with a friend from miami, sweating in the 95 degree heat while digging through racks of vintage & ended the day with justine at a bar in brooklyn.
i'm prepared to shout it from the rooftops... "I LOVE NEW YORK!" :)

it surely was hot today, that's for sure. i'm here for three weeks (into the second week now) and i guess i feel the same way. i'm always wishing i lived here, but i truly enjoy everything as a tourist....i haven't really hit up the vintage shops yet, but will next week with my sister. she's mapped out several in brooklyn. go try toby's coffee in williamsburg. it's fantastic.
